Getting Back on Track

It has been forever since I have posted anything in my Etsy store, anything other than the Murrini Cookbook. I decided it is time to start to actually sell things that I make and get a little more consistent about it. My first in series "Back to the future" of course inspired by the movie with the same title, since yesterday, the day that I posted my bracelet that will hopefully tell the direction of my future is the same that Marty McFly arrived to the future. Anyone who remembers the movie and watched it soon after it was published, should feel a bit old now. I surely do.

Bead Soup Partner Melissa Meman!

Please meet my partner for the Bead Soup Blog Hop Party, Melissa Meman. Melissa makes beautiful jewelry where she combines different metals including copper, silver, brass and bronze and all kinds of beads from artisan glass work to precious stones and she also uses enamels in her work. She is the owner and designer/artist of her company Melismatic Art Jewelry and has been involved in some sort of crafts all her life but the love of designing jewelry won her over years ago. I made a small interview of her and here is how she answered:

Where and how do you live?
I live in Frederick, MD with my husband and 11-yo son.

What started you with the creative path?
I have always been involved in some sort of craft... crocheting was my 1st love. My mom made all my clothes, quilted and much more. That made a huge impression on me and my sisters.

What did you want to be when you were 12 years old?
I always wanted to be a singer or an actress!

Where would you want to be in 10 years, or what would you like from your life to be like in 10 years?
In 10 years it would be nice to be able to retire from my 9-5 job and devote my entire day to jewelry making of some sort and sit back and enjoy my family!

What is your favorite media?
I love working with so many things, my first love was wire and I still love it. I think right now it is working with metal and torch fired enamel.

What inspires you?
Nature, textiles, music, other art and artists, family!

Funny, we artists seem to have similar taste and path, while I was typing Melissa's answers I realized they were very similar to mine. I am so pleased to have her as my Bead Soup partner, this will be my first time creating actual jewelry of anything else than lampwork beads... wish me luck, I have some gorgeous stuff from her that I got.

Bead Soup Stuff

So I sent my Bead Soup Party mix in the beginning of the February and while I don't have an actual introduction of my partner yet, I can definitely show what I sent for her, since she did  confirm that she has received the package.
This is my first time in a Bead Soup and I now hope that I would have taken a bit better pictures of what I sent but since I didn't, here it goes just as it is.

Life of an artist and crafter is full of decisions. Especially when you fall in love with several different materials and you have been doing this and that since your childhood.
This is my revealing blog, I will finally get more public, I will reveal something out of me and my life as I have never done before.
The funny thing is that I grew up with bunch of kids who all wanted to be famous. Most of the time it had nothing to do with being famous because of... it was being famous for being me. It was kind of confusing to me, but I decided that sure that is something everyone wants. No, even though I thought so, I still don't want to be famous. I want my work to be famous and I will reveal myself only to get my work noticed.
Ok, the choices I was talking about I would roughly divide into two categories: what to represent and how to do it.
I'm still debating with myself on both of these choices, but I will get there soon enough.
Oh and I think I need to apologize for my typing, I do not generally use capitals or apostrophes, so if I forget to type them, or just miss spell something (English is not my first language, like you propably guessed a while ago...), so please don't be too hard on me!
