The results are going to be seen in my new tutorial, where you can see the murrinis in beads, and also read the descriptions how to make them. It is right now on pre-sale for discounted price, and will be published on 9/11/11. I believe this is a great tool for anyone who uses murrini in their work, and wants to make them too.

Murrini soon on Etsy

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 235px; height: 313px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l7fLOd2c90s/TgBt4jrW0tI/AAAAAAAAAIs/fovuByN2bGw/s320/wiii.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620613153375572690" /> I got such a great feedback for my murrini, that I have decided to start selling it on Etsy. I will spend some time working on my first murrinis in the next few days.I have decided on at least 3 different murrinis to start with. One of the first ones is going to be my latest murrini with blue center, I had some of it for sale in the garage sale section of the Lampworketc glass forum, and I was surprised by the interest in it. I had already decided that I would not be able to sell anymore there, since I will launch my murrini on Etsy, but I had no idea that it would go over as well as it did.
Hope to report soon how my kick start went.
Wish me luck!

Murrini mania!!!

I was so happy when few people received my murrini, and one of them, my friend Donna from ironmountainglass.com started a gallery thread about it. She wanted to see what everyone have gotten out of the murrini. Well, so far the posters are quite few, but she has posted few amazing beads showcasing my murrini. They are drop dead gorgeous, and I am so happy that she had so great success with it. The colors she is getting out of them are just amazing.
Here are some of the pictures, I will post later more, when others will start posting their images. I was surprised by the reception, and had to get back on my torch to make some more for the extra requests. I am not really crazy about making the murrini, but I really love to use them, and I want them to be made by me. Kinda shooting myself on a foot here, but I just gotta keep making it. And I do love trying new ideas, it is just the process of making it that I dont like too much. I can't even really explain why, I just think it takes way too long and is just annoying. But yet I keep making more. And I find it even difficult to do just one, I side track and make several different ones. So which is it, pain in a butt or obsession???

I just wish I had a furnace to make the murrini with, would be soooo much faster, and I actually like doing that kinda stuff in a big scale! Cutting the chips... not so much. I think I need to work on my attitude, and get excited about the murrini making, since I am going to be making it anyhow, I might as well enjoy the whole process, not just using the chips.
Weird, people are just weird sometimes...

And I used to love bamboo

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2q5-ydQEzTA/TaPRLdNePII/AAAAAAAAAHg/JsWrqeceKYU/s400/Bamboo%2B18%2Binches.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594545156874189954" />

What awfully stressfull and busy few weeks behind. We decided last year to pull out all our rose bushes on the side yard, which is about 140 feet long fence line. Well, so we pulled them, tossed them to the alley, and posted on Craig's list that there were free roses... like we did with our agaves. The roses were gone, and we planted some crap ton of bamboo for a nice hedge to keep the noise from the street little more muffled. It didn't seem to grow much last year, but when the March hit the Texas, the bamboo started to push several feet long shoots up in one day, all over the place. It was spreading like a wild fire, and I lost all my sleep over it. It had already spread by the time onto the alley, and onto the lawn. We decided to get a piece of mind, and hired someone to tear it down, while we dug it out from the alley, and what ever would shoot up at the lawn.
Oh boy, last nights storm with a ton of rain made the shoots pop up like mushrooms, right out of nowhere, there were nothing on the lawn when I left to work 12 hours earlier, but when I came back from work, I saw them all over the place. We knew immediately when the sun rose where all the missed rhizomes were. One here, another there, oh, these are not the same one, there's more than couple here. Oh, the joy of discovering.
In the morning, when the sun started to rise, and I got home from work, I dashed to the lawn still wearing my scrubs, and just started digging the roots up. I felt like I grew up a foot or two, I had so much clay and mud on the bottom of my clogs. But I got the ones from the lawn dug out. At least what ever shot up today, tomorrow there might be a whole new set of rhizomes.
Later on when I had woken up, and my DH had gotten off from his work, we left for a dinner, and when we came back, I wanted to, not caring that it was dark, to see if anything came out on the alley, where we already dug all of it out. Oh yeah, there it is still growing, not as bad as it was, but it defenitely is not gone. I think some more digging and Round Up is in our future.
Did this teach us anything? Yes, bamboo grows in the rain like a weed... oh, and... and... naaaah, I guess it was nothing important. Next week we will plant something else that will become really expensive to first plant, and then tear down the next year. Invasive is a good thing when you want some sound barriers.
Anyone know a good land scape designer?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GU9RxDfPyAg/TaPMU1jBhnI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/r8EG_oeWDNU/s400/012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594539820467717746" />

Search for an inspiration and motivation

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yuRuyTe0GYM/TZKuJKhtiUI/AAAAAAAAAHI/27RRpadA9KA/s400/005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589721559988013378" />

I had very odd day today. I usually am full of energy and ideas when I go to torch, and it gets almost overwhelming to decide how to start, cause there are just so many things I want to do. Well, today I had no such problems, my inspiration was totally lost! I decided to start with making few pairs of beads for ear rings, since I am taking a part in an ear ring exchange. My way of making the ear ring pairs is to make them in one mandrel, to get them the right size. But this time I decided to use bead rollers to get them exactly the same size. When ever I was using the bead roller, one of my beads would break lose, and I would have to finish them as itty bitty single beads. I was so upset about it, that I totally lost my concentration and inspiration for the rest of the day.
I tried few new things, but was not happy with the results, and decided that I needed to end the session with a good note. I decided to make a tornado bead, the technique that I use often, but used new colors for me. I had used both base, and encasement color before, but never together, nor in the tornado bead. I was pleased with the results, the bead looks pretty, especially in person. But I remained unhappy with the way my session had gone.
I was just wondering what do people do to calm themselves down when things are not going like they should? Is there some way of getting calm in an instant, or is there something that one could do, that would ease up the racing (or raging) mind? I found out, that after several unsuccessful attempts I needed to have at least one positive, just to keep my sanity. I did accomplish that, but I was still upset of how much time I had wasted getting nothing done.
I will try to work on getting re-organized and concentrate on the fun and positive aspects of creating. But sometimes it is really difficult to achieve, when you feel like you are failing. How to inspire and motivate yourself then?
I know so many talented artists, that keep creating day after another amazing stuff, and I bet they have days when they feel like failures, but they bounce right back and just keep going, I'd just like to know how they do it.

Feather Tutorial

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oo-D-oeX7zU/TYWbIsrew9I/AAAAAAAAAGY/CpYE8qT-M2U/s400/009.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586041486557758418" />

After few requests to write a tutorial, I will be attempting to do so.

The skill level:
Basic skills to just make a bead, plus you need to be able to make a twistie, or have purchased ones for use, I like to use the ones with reactive glass, and to get nice feathery effect, it needs to be quite tight. The little shorts of the twisties that are too tiny to use for anything else, are great for this, you only need about 1/2 inch piece. Also raking is essential part of this technique. Other than that it is all about heat control and imagination!
To rake I use pick made out of clear rod, rather than actual rake that misplaces too much of a glass, with glass pick you can pick the excess off.

Start making a base bead, I like to use ivory, for it's natural look, and because it mottles little, so the feathers get more realistic look.
Just make a cylinder shape bead, or what ever shape you want, as big as you wish.
Let the bead cool down a little, not enough to crack, but enough so that it keeps it's shape while applying the twistie.

Take the piece of twistie with tweezers, or apply the twistie directly from the longer piece. Once it is on the surface, heat it up little to make sure it attaches to the glass, and won't shatter. Then apply other feathers, if you wish to have more than one. Once all the feathers have been applied, heat it so that the twistie melts onto the surface. I over heat usually a little, it makes the twistie spread little more, and it will make really pretty feathers, but don't let the shape get out of control.

Once you have the feathers melted, and you are happy with it, spot heat one feather at a time, and use a clear glass pick, that you have flashed in the flame few times, to rake from the 1/4 or 1/3 from the top of the feather, down to the vein. If one raking motion won't do it, no worries, you can rake as many times as you need to, just don't get your pick stuck on the feather, give it enough heat to keep it flowy enough. If your pick gets stuck, just cool it down by blowing on to it, and wiggle it to break it off, and reheat the feather to continue where you left it off. Once you have nice vein on the bottom of the feather, pick up the extra glass with your glass pick, and now you are ready to either smooth out all the raking with some polishing, or press your bead.

Sorry, no photoes of the process, I would need an extra hand!
Hope you enjoy!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FdSJmkRC-Rw/TYiO_-Ct_1I/AAAAAAAAAGg/k1CoDBDZq9I/s400/056.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586872567390404434" />

Spring is here!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-n_qqO9LNU-Q/TYWGjM0UHFI/AAAAAAAAAGI/VkYqfNm3qQo/s400/008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586018852117158994" />

The first night I can hear the crickets chirping outside. I am working every week extra, trying to study for the state boards, so I can finally do what I was trained to do. And I am trying to make some beads. If it was up to me, I would rather skip the work and studying, and just make beads. Don't we all?
This is also the time of the year, when outside requires more than I have time to give it. Trees need trimming, the old leaves need raking, and there are tons of new stuff (especially after very cold winter) that needs to be planted.
All kinds of projects are awaiting, and I would be all over them, if I had time for it. I have some beads and also some supplies there for sale. The supplies are Striking Color rods, since lots of people were not able to purchase them when they went for sale on Striking Color webstore at Etsy and at the Artfire. I have been fortunate enough to score some, and I am willing to spread the wealth around for those who didnt get any. So go check my store right now! I swear they won't last long when the word spreads around.
I have also started a new exchange on LE about silver murrinis, each one of us pulls 3 different silver murrini canes, and we exchange the canes, and the beads made out of those murrinis, and I will put together a tutorial of the recipies for each murrini. Everyone joining the exchange will receive their copy of the tutorial at no cost. So if silver murrinis are your thang, and you'd like to get more recipies to make them, now is the time to join. The deadline for signing up hasnt been decided yet, but the deadline to submit your beads and murrinis, will be the end of February 2011.

Turning of a page

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/TLffEMo2wZI/AAAAAAAAAFw/eKSLPYIAPCM/s400/031.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5528132330825630098" />
I feel like I am finally getting to the point in my life that I have balance between work, home and glass! To get there I unfortunatelly had to quit my job at the operating room, but I got equally good job at the ICU at the same hospital where I worked. I loved OR, but I am sure I will love this job too. The good thing is that my schedule will finally change to one that will accomodate also my personal life, leaving time for my wonderful husband, and also for my obsession with glass.
I have tried to catch up in last 4 months what I have forgotten in past years, and I found this wonderful on-line forum that I joined. There is no limit to the friendliness of the people, or to their willingness to help with whatever. If it is about glass, or glass related things, they are eager to share their knowledge and experiences. And even if it doesnt have anything to do with glass, they are just as happy to pitch in.
I have been able to learn about new glasses, and new techniques from the forum, and boy have they changed in last few years. Most of the time, I have spent experimenting with whatever I feel like I need to learn, and that does not seem to run out any time soon. So far I havent had any days that I would have felt like I was productive, learning takes time, and often the whole time goes by so fast, I have barely started, when it is time to finish for the day. The frustration is huge when I realize that I did not make really anything, just tried certain glasses or colors, or tried to practise one or the other thing. And my annealer is echoing from the emptines, just accompanied by ugly color combinations, and wonky beads. But at least I feel like I will be able to get there... now that I can devote some time for glass, without taking the only precious moments away with my husband.

Back in business!

I am so ready to dive back into the glass. I visited my family in Finland and ofcourse we did a trip to Lapland to ski. And I am glad we did, since it looks like the winter never hit the Southern parts of the country. I have never seen so little snow even in North of Finland, don't get me wrong, there's plenty of it, just not as much as usually. It makes me really worry about the curse this planet has taken, but there is very little just one person can do.
Anyway, I wan't supposed to whine about the global warming, even though I have to admit that it makes even skiing difficult at times. I enjoyed my stay in Finland and I left once again with tears in my eyes back to the other side of the globe. Im so glad about computers and i-phones and such.
The ski trip itself was only for 3 days, and I think it is just great time for intensive skiing. Your body gets so tired of it in those days, but your mind would still keep going if your body just could take you up the mountain one more time.
I was supposed to snowboard, but sadly my snowboarding skills were slightly rusty and I fell and hurt myself so properly that I could not risk another fall... so skies it was from that point on. But now matter how disappointed I was not being able to snowboard, I loved every second of skiing.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/R89J99czFNI/AAAAAAAAAA0/Gt8XQ8YtNx8/s400/rukakuvat+139.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174435825688188114" />

The weather was very foggy and I wish there would have been blue skies behind all the snow covered trees or some Northern lights to take pictures from, but instead I was forced to forget trying to make it memorable and actually live those moments and have them in my memories.
I was so happy that my whole family (except my oldest brother) was on that trip. I gat to hang out with every one of them for few days instead of just visiting them for few hours. It was awesome!!! I sure miss them all now, and I keep going through my photos, but the best memories really are in my heart.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/R89KS9czFOI/AAAAAAAAAA8/raeGEcyPKTo/s320/rukakuvat+027.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174436186465440994" />

And reindeers really do exist! Here is the proof. How cute are they, I wish I could have them on my backyard in Texas.
The skiing is not just about skiing. Lots of times the day is built around the luches and dinners and meeting at this or that place. And every time you take your skies off, you have to eat or drink something (preferably both) so there is lots of fires all over the mountain where you can grill your hotdogs or like finnish people usually grill sausages.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/R89Kn9czFPI/AAAAAAAAABE/-HMpbpnxSNs/s200/rukakuvat+335.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174436547242693874" />

The sausages are eaten with just hot mustard and lots of it...

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/R89K1NczFQI/AAAAAAAAABM/9FhIXSGJJgk/s200/rukakuvat+084.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174436774875960578" />

The only shadows on this trip were for first that my sister wasn't able to ski, she had hurt her ankle few months back and it still hasnt recovered at the time. And for second, like always it ended too soon. I am always excited to get back home in Texas, but only because I have my own zoo here (dog and two cats) that can possibly not exist without me (yeah right!). Even though it is always sad to leave again, it is also relief to be back home. It is not always just a vacation, most of the time it is very stressfull time. I have lots of friends and family that want to see me and that I want to see too and in those two weeks that I spent there half of that time went for skiing, so the rest of the time went for driving from place to another.
But I hope that my siblings will visit me next, so I will get an excuse to not go to Finland, but instead have a real vacation. Don't get me wrong I want to go to Finland, but if I choose to go there for two weeks, I won't have any time left for a vacation. Going all for a vacation together could be so wonderful, but in reality propably not possible. Iwonder if there would even be a place where everybody would wanna travel?
But I have to admit that for few days my eyes rested, very much so...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/R89L3dczFSI/AAAAAAAAABc/COCEgOhiNq4/s400/rukakuvat+045.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174437913042294050" />

Wonderful life

Well things didn't go as smoothly with the new kitten as I expected. My old cat never adapted to indoor living, so the nights were very sleepless until I gave up and let him out again. The only challenge is to allow the older cat to come and go freely without the kitten learning to use the cat door. Might end up just being a dream... but...
One of the other things that doesn't make me too excited is the litter box. My old cat never uses one, since he is outdoor cat when it comes to going to bathroom. And this new kid on a block is really enthusiastic about digging and throwing the litter all over the place. So I have a mission and it is to teach him to go to actual toilet. And this is the situation where you don't know if you should laugh or cry. Part of the training includes the cat using a metallic mixing bowl as their box... and it is placed inside the toilet bowl, under the ring. Well... the litter keeps falling to the bottom of the bowl and the cat keeps throwing it more and more furiously finally outside the bowl to create some sort of hole to the litter. So now that bathroom is out of every other use than kitty training, it just is too messy for anything else. If you sneak to the shower after cleaning the litter from the floor and rug, you can be sure that when you come out of your shower, it has all returned. Luckily it is not the only bathroom in a house, or this experiment would have been over already. He is a smart cat and learning fast, but so far it has been just getting used to different things, now starts the real training to new things, and I am worried that it won't be as easy anymore.
Sometimes I keep thinking that life would be so much easier if I wouldn't like animals so much. But I am willing to go ways with these critters, they make my life so colorful and fun. I believe that my pets have made me into me... And I wouldn't change a day I get to hang out with them, except today... and you would not wonder why if you would see the bathroom. I will not be sorry though when he has finally learned to use it... and if not... I will just wonder for the rest of my life what was I thinking trying to create such insane mess in the bathroom.

Training for life

He is so good boy, most of the time anyways. He doesn't bite, he doesn't scratch and he doesn't climb up furniture and jump on a fire place mantel... all this is followed by a word mostly.
My older cat just refused to stay as indoor cat and after agonizing month for everyone I just had to let him back out. If coyote gets him, at least he lived happy until that. He brought me tons of rats right after this joyful return to the outside world, but looks like the population is getting under control again.

Finally home!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_-mQHLAIduCw/RzZef2Nko4I/AAAAAAAAAAk/fSZBfVk1p1U/s200/Zubov.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131392726656656258" />
So my adoption is finally done. I have a cute little cat, that I named after a hockey player. I know it is not like me at all, but the name just suits him so well, so here is Zubov! I know it's not the best picture, had to cover his glowing irises with black paint too :o).
He is the best behaving cat I have ever seen. He plays like 4 month old kitten should... like crazy, but he never uses his claws, never bites, doesn't climb up your legs, doesn't scratch the furniture. But he has one flaw, he purrs like a cartoon bear agains my ear when I sleep. Or it would be a flaw if I didn't love it.
So I was only able to adopt one cat, cause the other one was already in the adoption process, but I think it was just for the best. The cat is not allowed (this is the animal rescue organization's rules) to go outside... so now I had to keep my 6 year old outdoor cat indoors only. He isn't too happy about the situation, but he is getting used to it after one week. At least I don't have to worry about him getting in trouble or danger, but I think he would really enjoy going outside. There has been talk about building a screen to the patio, so he could still go out, but not be able to leave the patio... I think he would love it.
The most surprising move came from my dog, she seems to love that little kitten, but then again, I am not very surprised, since he is so well behaving.
Life is so good.

Tricky...

Well it sure is tricky this kitty adoption thingie. The place where i applied for the kittens didn't have almost any of the ones online available anymore. They neither returned our call, even the one they promised. So I went ahead to local Petco and saw two so adorable kitties, that I could not possibly decide between them, and after quite a bit of talking got agreement for two kitties.

But these kitties do not belong to Petco, they are there just for some exposure, so that someone would adopt them. There is just a business card and a note :apply online and we'll contact you in 24-48 hours... 50 hours gone now and I am getting frustrated. The cats are not obviously happy there, they have diarrhea and nobody can access their cages, so they could even be cleaned. I would get them out of there as soon as I could if I would just get interviewed... or somebody would at least contact me. I would just much rather have my cat adopted than got it free from just someone. It is more expensive, but it will help the homeless cats and dogs. But I might soon just choose some random person from the paper. I understand that they work with just volunteer staff and there's never enough of that, but just email that my application has been received would calm me down. And that could even be automated, so it wouldn't have to take anyones precious time.
I wish I had a picture of those two cuties here, but I didn't want to take it, in case they are already being adopted somewhere else, I would be too sad. If I can't get them both I will only get one cat then. No matter where the cat is adopted or bought from. I don't understand myself how this has made me really impatient, I think I should be happy thinking that maybe they are already in process of getting a wonderful and loving home, that means one less cat without loving home.
And I can't believe that as I am typing here I received an email telling me to chill out: we're going to call you, we're just volunteers and trying our best. Now I feel like total jerk.

But the email they sent said that they have one of the cats reserved for me... one... oh no, might mean that the other one is going somewhere else. Maybe that's for the best, but it will make me somewhat sad. But I am also excited now.
I have gotten very little done in last week workwise because I have concentrated my whole energy for these kittens. This is the reason why I usually try to avoid the rooms at pet stores where they have the kittens... I just cant pass them! They just suck my energy out of me, I would love to take them all home and just hug them forever. *Squeeze, squeeze, would you like to have a bite of turkey or perhaps chicken liver darling little kitty?* If my world would be a perfect place I would live in beach house, biiig beach house... rather in San Diego... where there is nobody for a mile this way and another that way... (everybody knows that place in San Diego?) and the weather would be just wonderful always and I would have many many cats and many more dogs.

But because the world is not perfect there house I live in is not biiiig, it's nice size house though, but theres neighbors everywhere... and propably in 30 years this house is full of graffiti that the kids from the school on the other side of the street has made, saying that: "here lives crazy cat lady". And they would throw rocks on windows and this would be the scariest place in a city. Every Halloween people who have never seen the house before would say how good job someone did with the decoration. Not knowing, that it is all just really that creepy! Muhahahaaaa!
Tomorrow my life should be back to normal, and then I really should start creating again. I really can't wait!

BOOOO HOOOO!

All those cute little girls are already in new homes. But she is trying to arrange for us a time to go to see their other cats. All the cats are scattered around the town to different foster homes, so this is not easy to arrange. I almost feel bad for wanting to see the cats. I just have to admire people who do this just for the love of animals. It is propably very rewarding, but it can be heart breaking and hard to keep up with everything. And what do these people ask for themselves? Nothing! That I call commitment. I love animals and I am glad that I have a daytime job where I can be around them, but to do that for nothing is really demanding. I think these people are not just extremely strong, they are also very kind and they have heart as big as Empire State Building, they are heroes. (LOL, just the first one that popped into my mind) So I will be waiting for a phone call to see when will I be able to see all the kitties.

Nerve Wrecking!

Ok, I am at the end of my witts... well, not really. I am just a little too excited about those little kitties, that not receiving an email neither a phone call on Sunday (wich would make total sense in normal state of mind) is now driving me crazy. I see all the terrible scenarios in my mind. My application lost into the data heaven or all the kitties been taken already. AAARRGGGGHHHH!
Ive been told to calm down and wait, but I have no intention of doing it. I resisted the urge to call and demand my kitten already yesterday and I will not be able to do it another day in a row. I will just burst of anticipation.
I think my cat will be first surprised, but he will be so happy to realize that there is a potential for some play and stalking... he likes to ambush. I mean... if I will get my kitty.
Lunch is a little over half an hour away and that's when the phone call is going to be done. I think before that I will have to calm myself down, they will not give anything for adoption for a person who can't wait for a day.

Sits on a floor..... crosses her legs on her lap..... joins the middle fingers with her thumbs..... puts her hands on her knees, palms facing upwards..... Inhales..... exhales..... inhales..... exhales..... hmmmmmmm.... ok, I am ready!

Happy Halloween!

Well, it's that time of the year again. I love Halloweens. This was just my 4th Halloween ever and the first one that I actually got dressed. Ok, so now you're thinking that what is she talking about? Halloween is next week. True, and you are totally right to be kind of confused here. But that durn day is in a middle of the week, what's up with that? It should be national holliday! Really, I do mean it. And because of that, I had a Halloween party this weekend. And ofcourse I had to choose my costume from the obvious choices, like a real Halloween newbie. Yes, I was Dorothy, and my dog was Toto. I just wish I had chosen diffirent Dorothy costume. This one had way too little fabric. I am defenitely size small or maybe sometimes medium, but I had to tug my dress down constantly and I had difficult time breathing. And the dress was size S/M. And my shoe cover thingies... AAARGHHHH!!!!! They were driving me bananas, finally I ended up with bunch of duct tape in my shoes. But it was all fun and almost everyone dressed up with a costume and they looked so great. I think I will have another party next year, but this time I will start early enough to decorate everything to be as creepy as possible, and make even all the food really gross looking. I just had no idea of all the possibilities.
Anyways, long live and learn. I had fun, but I think that next year I will have even more fun after planning carefully before hand.
But this is the day I have actually waited all night. I have wanted for a very long time to get my cat a playmate. So last night finally after thinking of it for a year almost i decided to go ahead and adopt a kitten. I hope I will manage to post these pictures too... I am not very good with this computer stuff, but I seem to be learning quite a bit all the time. So I hopefully have the picture of kittens here now...

Aren't they just adorable. I am just waiting that it gets a little closer to the noon, so I can give them a phone call and ask where my kitty is!!! There is always a chance that they are not available anymore, or that they consider that I would not be the best match for these kitties (wich I have hard time believing). But I did go ahead and filled the application online, and I hope I am not expecting things to happen too fast, but I am going to give them a call today. The house will never be the same anymore.
Though could be possible that I am getting myself into something where there is no turning back from... I am a handfull allready by myself, and then to add a wild kitty into the mix... hahaa! My cat brings me rats, so he keeps me entertained pretty much every night, don't have to look for things to do, cause if he didn't kill them (it's almost like bringing somebody fresh bagels) I will have to chase them down. Luckily it has only happened once, other times my dog has killed them. This is all just so gross. And for a first time for a long time I could have had peaceful sleep last night, but I decided in my sleep to take the can of pepsi from the window sill and dump it into the bed. Well... I got really good wake up and had to start doing laundry in a middle of the night. So now on top of that I have a dog and a cat and hopefully that new bundle of joy!
I will try to kill time today by making new designs with my beads... I need time to go fast, my kitty is anxious to get into her new home! I am just so exited. Have to think about a name too. It has to be very good, I'd prefer a Finnish name.... *puts on her thinking hat*. I feel very relaxed and calm, even though I am exited and can't wait, but I have this really cheezy feeling of the little kitty just solving all the problems in a world. She is just so full of positive energy that all negativity just disintegrates into the wind and gets carried away. Do not wake me up from my beautiful dream!

Here we go!
Life of an artist and crafter is full of decisions. Especially when you fall in love with several different materials and you have been doing this and that since your childhood.
This is my revealing blog, I will finally get more public, I will reveal something out of me and my life as I have never done before.
The funny thing is that I grew up with bunch of kids who all wanted to be famous. Most of the time it had nothing to do with being famous because of... it was being famous for being me. It was kind of confusing to me, but I decided that sure that is something everyone wants. No, even though I thought so, I still don't want to be famous. I want my work to be famous and I will reveal myself only to get my work noticed.
Ok, the choices I was talking about I would roughly divide into two categories: what to represent and how to do it.
I'm still debating with myself on both of these choices, but I will get there soon enough.
Oh and I think I need to apologize for my typing, I do not generally use capitals or apostrophes, so if I forget to type them, or just miss spell something (English is not my first language, like you propably guessed a while ago...), so please don't be too hard on me!
